High-performance iOS CPU miner for HTN (Hoohash V110).
Tested on iOS 16+.
0. (Optional) Download our mobile wallet app
1. Download our app (allow installation of apps as prompted)
2. Enter your HTN wallet address (from step 0) and an optional worker name
3. Enter the stratum bridge address (or pool) to mine to
4. Tap Start Mining!
Ask in the HTN Discord. Community members and devs monitor it regularly.
Yes. iHoo donates hashrate at 2.0% of all nonces to Foztors DevFee address. It uses a separate stratum connection to do this continually - 'per-nonce mode'. You will see a worker iHoo_DF on your stratum.
Apple does not allow crypto miners on the App Store. You must download the iHoo.ipa file and "sideload" it onto your device.
You can do this using free tools on your Mac or PC such as AltStore, Sideloadly, or TrollStore (if jailbroken). These tools will sign the app with a free developer certificate so it can run on your device.
Other distribution methods are under consideration, please join the discussion in Discord to see more
Yes, but with limits. iHoo uses a silent background audio trick to stay alive when you minimize the app or lock the screen. However, iOS aggressively throttles CPU usage for background apps. For maximum hashrate, you must keep iHoo open on your screen.
iHoo features a built-in, pitch-black screensaver that activates automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity. This turns off the OLED pixels on modern iPhones to prevent screen burn while allowing the processor to mine at 100% speed.
To ensure iOS doesn't limit your hashrate:
iHoo is deeply optimized using Apple's native hardware math instructions. However, older chips (like the A10 Fusion in the iPad 7th Gen) restrict the OS to using only 2 cores at a time.
Devices with the A11 Bionic (iPhone 8) or newer support Heterogeneous Multi-Processing, allowing iHoo to saturate all Performance and Efficiency cores simultaneously. This is why an A14 or A17 Pro device gets exponentially higher hashrates!
A19 Pro Silicon, with good cooling, can hit 500+ KH/s on six threads (2P Cores and 4 Ecores)
A14 Bionic Silicon, with good cooling, can sustain 275Kh/s on six threads (2P Cores and 4 Ecores)
At the other end of the scale A10 Fusion, can hit 100 KH/s on 2 threads
Mining generates heat. Apple Silicon is highly efficient, and iOS will automatically thermal-throttle the hashrate if the device gets too warm to protect the hardware.
iHoo includes a built-in safeguard that automatically stops mining if your battery drops below a configurable percentage. To protect long-term battery health on dedicated mining devices, we highly recommend enabling Optimized Battery Charging (or the 80% Limit on iPhone 15/16) in your iOS Settings.
